Directions -
By Car
Our York stag weekend destination can be quickly reached from the UK motorway
network and is fed by the A19, A1079 and A166 routes into the city. If you’re
staying at one of our stag friendly hotels, don’t forget to print off the
driving directions from the download page.
By Train
The ease of reaching York by train makes it a perfect destination for those stag
groups who have people coming from all parts of the UK. York is on the east
coast main line and can be reached directly in a couple of hours from London.
This popular stag destination can also be reached quickly and easily from
Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle,
Nottingham and Liverpool.
By Plane
The nearest airport to our York stag weekend destination is Leeds Bradford
International Airport (LBIA). York City Centre is just under an hours drive
away.
Ariving By Plane
At present there is no organised transport to and from the airport. However, an
hourly coach service between York and the Airport starts running in March 2007.
Alternatively, you can get a taxi from the airport which can be relatively cheap
if split between a few members of your stag group.
Ariving By Bus
You and your stag party can reach York from all over the country by coach and
bus. National Express runs a service that stops at the train station. This could
be a very cost effective means of arriving at this destination if your stag
group is on a budget.
Getting Around -
On Foot
York is a relatively small city, so, zig-zagging from drinking establishment to
drinking establishment won’t prove to be much of a chore. Make life easier and
download one of our City Guide Maps to aid you on your merry way.
By Taxi
Get a taxi when your legs have turned into a substance similar to jelly! Getting
a taxi in this popular stag party destination can prove tricky when all the pubs
and clubs close, so you might want to get a kebab and walk home instead. Don’t
forget to make a note of your hotels address so that other local drunkards can
point you in the right direction.
