Based on the edge of Derwentwater, our business is located in the heart of the Lake District National park with some of the most dramatic and iconic scenery and landscapes in the country. Based only 4 miles from the tourist hotspot Keswick our centre is both convenient and accessible via boat, on foot or car, with ample free parking (see contact for directions). We are on the Western shore of Derwentwater, at the foot of one of the most popular short walks in the country, Catbells.

Our site building offers free, secure parking, toilets and changing facilities, hot and cold drinks and an outside seating area.

Segway Trek

Our Segway x2 SE’s are purpose built, all terrain segways. Designed specifically for off-road use, it is the only vehicle of its kind available. This personal transportation device is great fun and easy to use. Follow one of our guides through picturesque woodland on specially built Segway routes down to a private, secluded stretch of Derwentwater lakeshore. As with the quads our routes and guides cater for all abilities, from complete novices to seasoned riders. All customers will be given a tuition session with full instruction and practice session before the trek to ensure the rider is competent.

From the A66, turn off at the Portinscale junction. Follow the road through the village for 2 miles (Do not turn off at the Lingholm kitchen). Follow the signs for Hawse End Adventure Centre. Just before the centre turn left through the private gate (Derwent bay). Turn left at the bottom of the drive.
